MAHS held a successful and much anticipated field outing to Central Wisconsin where we found a diversity of uncommon to rare species of reptiles and amphibians. We traveled to many spots that were favorites of our Education Coordinator, Eric Roscoe, when he was a student at UWSP. A variety of animals were found from prairie skinks to fox snakes. Around 3pm it began to storm, so we headed up to fellow herper and honorary MAHS member, Steve Smith’s house. Here we got an up close look at the amazing dart frogs and mantellas that Steve works with. His enclosures were amazing planted vivariums that looked like a photo of a rainforest floor from a book. We got to hang out and learn from an amazing herp lover! What a great day!!!
